I would like to keep this as an active forum and would appreciate if new people would post an introduction about themselves within 2 weeks of joining.
If no introduction is recieved the username will be removed.

Hello

My wife and I are putting a boat on the water in April and are total newcomers to boating although I have used very small outboard boats whilst trout fishing. We have been walking the rivers and canals watching the operation of locks, mooring etc and will sign up for a day skipper course in March before we get aboard.
We live in North Essex any recommendations for a Day skipper course?

We are both in our fifties have a couple of semi grown up sons and are looking forward to a bit of time to ourselves !!

Hi my name isTom. My wife and I have been canal boating for twenty or so years and we trail our boat -that is we slip it in to whatever canal we choose and after a week or so cruising the canals we recover the boat and take it home so, no mooring fees.
Our present boat is a CaraCruiser, We've had several of these and previously we had a wilderness water rat.
PS The user name should be Gongoozler but I must have typed it wrong. A common accurence with me.

Hi there we are the owners of Lindy Helen. A 33' Taylors of chester wooden narrow boat. We are at the moment looking around to see what is known of their history.
Anyone know anything?
