Hello from Tewkesbury

Hi to all,
My name is Steve, I am the wrong side of 50. Kids have flown the nest.
I have a Dawncraft 22 'Lady Barbara' moored (at the moment, moorings up for sale) on the Avon Mill Stream in Tewks.
Survived the July flood, keeping fingers cross as it looks like it will stay on the water this winter.

Had the boat (1st boat) since Sept 06 and due to our wonderful summer have not had the use of her this year as I had planned.
Being single, most of my boating on the Avon has been single handed. Had a couple of nice days out in April (summer) 8) Managed to do a couple of 3 nighters and got as far as Evesham last September and October. Stop over at Pershore.
Next year the Severn?

Regards
Steve

Hi there! we are just up the river from you, above Strensham Lock on the left handside. Known as Jacksons field Moorings.
2007 was pants for boating and we had very poor use from our boat.
Might see you around in the new season! We have a boat called Fairhaven 30ft Seamaster and my dad has a Discovery 850 moored infront of us called magic Lady.
How come the moorings are up for sale? it that the moorings past Avon lock and past the mill?

Yes.
'Telstar Cruisers' who ran the moorings is up for sale due to a poor trading season and Jim who ran the ferry suddenly passing away in Aug.
They shut up shop at the end of last Sept.
I and the remaining boaters are waiting for the Town Council who own the moorings, to let us know what is happening.

Might get up river Sunday if the levels not too high and I can get under Tewks bridge.

Regards
Steve
