Viewing Platforms on the Witham

Viewing Platforms on the Witham

Postby Dick on Fri Jan 04, 2008 8:32 pm

Last year a new attraction suddenly appeared on the banks of the lower Witham just downstream of Anton's Gowt...

... a viewing platform ! For the outlay of a mere £40,000 this unfinished Stairway to Heaven, designed by a Belgian architect, has been constructed so we can all enjoy views over the Lincolnshire countryside. Visitors by boat should be aware that the banks at this point are reinforced with chunks of stone which makes mooring difficult. Mooring at Anton's Gowt and walking from there is the better option. Don't forget your camera/binoculars/sketch-pad etc !

Wouldn't standing on a brick give you uninterrupted views of the Lincolnshire countryside?
