Hi all, always have had an interest in boating since building a canoe when I was 14yrs old, much older now as I have just retired as a self employed plumber. Our present boat is a Freeman 26 with twin Perkins 4107s and have owned her for 3yrs, she is berthed on the River Antelope at Brigg, she is called Silver Mist.
We use her quite a lot, this year we went down the Trent which involves a passage into the Humber from the Ancholme, if you want to go any where from the Ancholme you have to go into the Humber. As you all will know the summer weather was a little damp this year and there was a time when I was thinking I am not going to get back to the Ancholme because of floods and wind, we did eventually at the beginning of October.
Our Freeman is what I call a running restoration as she was very neglected when we bought her, the previous owner had her for 24yrs and I don't think he had cleaned her once, the only way I could get the wind screen clean was with sugar soap and a scrubbing brush. Our boat is now at South Ferriby sat on the trailer that we bought with the boat after been in the water 2 1/2 yrs and the hull looks very well. Will close now as I don't want to bore you all to much.
Regards Mike Nicholson
